Minor scattered foxing, particularly to early and late pages. John Dunkin (1782-1846), topographer, antiquary, and printer. ”The History and Antiquities of Dartford” was Dunkin”s final work; following his death in 1846 he was buried, according to his own instructions, in the cemetery of St Edmund”s church, Dartford, as near as possible to the Roman burial-ground of Noviomagus, described extensively in ”The History and Antiquities” (pp. 91-97) (ODNB). A handsomely rebound copy of this scarce first edition. ~Robust packaging. All UK orders trackable, others on request.
