Minor marks to rear board. No foxing or browning to the text. Finely rebound in quarter red-brown polished morocco, raised bands and gilt lettering. Top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Armorial bookplate of D. G. Bridson (1948-2008), expert in botanical bibliography. The binding has the stamp of Sangorski & Sutcliffe to the reverse of the front endpage. The bookplate was designed by the binder Sangorski & Sutcliffe in 1973. Reproduction illus found on pp 197-248. (We also have Kennedy, Poems of Cynewulf in identical binding.) Robust packaging.
